Overview

WHO WE ARE

New York City-based Ramapo Training was established to provide staff training and program support for educational and recreational programs, especially those that serve children-at-risk and those with special needs. Ramapo Training is the professional development program of Ramapo for Children, a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to helping children with special needs from early childhood through adolescence since 1922.

Our Approach

Teach by Doing. Our programs are interactive and experiential, and are led by professionals with hands-on experience.

Immediate Implementation. Our professional development programs focus on practical, concrete skills and strategies for working most effectively with children and youth.

Reflect on Practice. Individual coaching, specific feedback and problem solving helps professionals apply skills directly to youth in their schools or programs.

Share our Stories. By actively involving participants and using everyday examples, we bring our methods to life.

Lead by Example. Our trainers model and carefully explain the skills, strategies and values that are at the core of effective behavior management.
